Online driving records are not official documents. Options to get an official document are In-Person or By Mail.

Get a driving record Online

You can request only for your own driver record online and by doing this check your California driver’s license status:

  • Pay a fee: $2 (2.1% service fee is added to debit and credit card transactions. For paying by e-check, only one item can be purchased.)
  • Prepare your printer, because you will have one chance to print your record after paying the fee.
  • Create an online account.

If you want to require the ownership history of a vehicle, driver or vehicle records of another person as well as decreased person’s photography (with a death certificate), you will have to fill the Request for Record Information (INF 70).

Get a vehicle record Online

The process of getting a vehicle record is similar to driving record.

  • Create an online account/Login to your account at
  • Pay fee: $2
  • Prepare your printer because there is only one chance to print the records after paying the fee.

Process of requesting another person’s vehicle record

Here is what you should do to get other person’s vehicle record:

Complete the necessary INF 1125 form. The fee for that service is $5

Complete an INF 1125 form and go to your local DMV office. Once again, the fee for that service is $5.

Common questions

What is reflected on the driver’s record?

An “H6” or “10-year driving record” that had information for internal department purposes is no longer available from March 20, 2019.

Driver record will include information:

  • convictions for three, seven, or ten years,
  • departmental actions, and
  • accidents on a person’s driver record as required by the California Vehicle Code (CVC) 1808.

I requested to have my address show on my printout, why does it not show on the screen?

The address is not shown for the person’s privacy protection. On the physical printout, the address will be revealed.

How do I view my driver and/or vehicle record? Where do I view it? What if I closed out the shopping cart confirmation page?

  1. Pay for the record
  2. View and print your record
  3. Close the shopping cart confirmation page

If you wish to view your record after closing the shopping cart confirmation page you must make another purchase.
