In Arkansas code section 27-50-901 et. Seq. you can find all the information about Arkansas driving records. There are three essential things drivers in Arkansas should know:
- The information on every person’s driving license is confidential. This information includes records of traffic violations and accidents, updates of the drug and alcohol database for CDL drivers.

- When we talk about methods of checking driver’s license history and records, there are three of them: In-person, Online, and by Mail.
Online

Suspensions and Revocation
There is a difference between suspension and revocation. The suspension is the condition when the driver can’t drive for some period, but he can get his license back. On the other hand, the revocation means the license is canceled and you need to submit an investigation before you get another one.
Types of Suspensions and Revocation
Excessive Moving Violations: You will get a suspension based on the point system
- 14 to 17 points: 3-month suspension.
- 18 to 23 points: 6-month suspension.
- 24 or more points: 1-year suspension.
Driving under the influence of Alcohol/Drugs: If you are driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more, you will be charged with a DUI. The license can be suspended for:
- 6 months for a 1st offense DWI/DUI.
- 180 days for a 1st offense BAC test refusal.
- 2 years for a 2nd offense within 5 years.
- 30 months for a 3rd offense within 5 years.
- 4 years for a 4th offense within 5 years.
- Your license may be revoked permanently for a 4th offense BAC test refusal within 5 years.
Driving with a Suspended License or No Licence
Driving with a suspended license will lead to an increase in the length of the suspension. Also, you can go to prison for up to 5 years. A driver’s license can be suspended if the person does not have a license while driving.
Driving without insurance
All the cars in Arkansas need to have proper insurance
Physical or Psychological Disqualification
Suspension if the re-examination finds that the person is physically or psychologically unable to drive safely.
Non-Driving Reasons for License Suspension
These include: not responding to a Motor Vehicle Commission notice or not appearing in court; failing to pay traffic tickets, fines, or surcharges; and not paying child support.
What to do if your license is suspended?
The first thing you should do is to speak with a Traffic Ticket Lawyer or DUI-DWI lawyer
If your license has not been taken away already, you need to surrender your license to the Arkansas Office of Motor Vehicles. Mail to the
Office of Driver Service,
Driver’s License Issuances,
Room 2120, P.O. Box 1272,
Little Rock, AR 72203.
The drivers across Arkansas do not have the right to drive while their license is suspended. After the suspension ends, you will get a Notice of Restoration from the OMV. There you can find all the instructions on how to restore a license.
How to Reinstate a Driver’s License
There are two ways of how you can do that. If you decide to do that by mail, you need to
- File an SR22 form – proof of insurance
- If it is required by the court, complete an alcohol education/treatment program
- If it is required by the court, pass the driving skills and knowledge tests
- Pay a reinstatement fee. You can mail a check or money order payable to:
Office of Driver Service,
Driver License Issuance,
Room 2120, P.O. Box 1272,
Little Rock, AR 72203
You can also use the online method to complete the same process. After you get a new license, you will be subject to a Mandatory Probation Period of 1 year. Any new violations in the Probation Period can result in the suspension of a driver’s license.

Hi Thomas!
It is better to visit closest DMV office in person and try to solve this issue there.
You can check addresses of Arkansas DMV locations on this page.
What can my brother do? He been in California for over ten years. They can’t give him his license they say because arkansas flagged it when he stayed out there prior for a short period. No one over the phone in arkansas dmv will tell him exactly what he needs to do to fix it out there so California can give him a licence. He had gotten the run around for ten years
That’s a tough one.
It’s better tp consult a lawyer since I’m afraid to mislead you with this question.
My driver’s license is not suspended but I was put on a probation period for 5 months due to a reckless driving ticket by a judge in Arkansas. I think my probation should be up by now but how do I know for sure?
